Blues dance is a family of Black American social dances (some solo, some partnered) that coevolved with different styles of Blues music throughout history, starting in the late 1800s and extending through today. Blues dance celebrates freedom of expression within community, improvisation, rhythm, and more!

7pm: Build-Your-Own Idiom Dance
Last month, we learned 4 specific dances/ways of dancing that are part of the blues dance family--ballroomin', belly rubbin', struttin', and Texas shuffle. We're starting off this month exploring how sticking with one basic/homebase for a whole song can act as a creative box--getting us deeper into the music, the moment, and our own creativity. The rest of this month, we'll explore more specific dances (or 'idioms') in the blues dance family.
You *don't* need to have taken last month's series to take this class/series. While we recommend that you take all 4 weeks this month, each class will still work on its own. No partner necessary, as usual.
**Pricing**
